Finding a late-night chemist when you actually need one is stressful enough without turning up to find the hours are incorrect on a website. That’s a big part of why we built 24 Hour Chemist Finder, and it’s why we take the accuracy of our listings seriously.

Here’s exactly how our directory works.

How listings are added

Every pharmacy in our directory has been individually researched before being added. We don’t bulk-scrape listings from other directories and republish them as-is. Each listing is sourced and cross-checked against at least one of the following:

  • The pharmacy’s own website
  • Google Maps / Google Business Profile
  • Healthdirect’s pharmacy finder
  • Direct phone verification
  • State health authority sources (e.g. SA Health, NSW Health)
  • Community pharmacy networks

We only include pharmacies that meet our inclusion criteria: open until 9pm or later, or open 24 hours.

What “Details last verified” means

Every listing on the site shows a Details last verified date. This is the date we last confirmed the listing’s hours, address, and contact details were accurate.

Pharmacy hours change — especially around public holidays, ownership changes, and seasonal trading. We can’t guarantee real-time accuracy, so we always recommend calling ahead if you’re making a special trip.

How to report incorrect information

Spotted something that looks wrong? We genuinely want to know.

If a pharmacy’s hours have changed, they’ve closed, or any details look off, you can contact us here and we’ll investigate and update the listing as quickly as we can.

Keeping this data accurate is an ongoing job, and tips from real users are one of the most reliable ways we catch outdated information.

Our inclusion criteria

To be listed in the 24 Hour Chemist Finder directory, a pharmacy must meet at least one of the following:

  • Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Open until midnight or later on at least some days
  • Open until 9pm or later on a regular basis

Standard business-hours pharmacies (typically closing at 5pm or 6pm) are not listed … as there are plenty of other places to find those.

Coverage

Our directory currently covers pharmacies across all Australian states and territories: NSW, VIC, QLD, WA, SA, TAS, ACT, and NT. We started in Sydney and have expanded nationally. Coverage is deeper in major cities and metro areas, and we’re continuously adding listings in regional areas.

If you know of a late-night pharmacy in your area that isn’t listed, Please let us know!
